There is now a very short window of time for pension schemes to commence GMP reconciliations. This window offers schemes a one-off opportunity to improve their data, help them comply with the Pension Regulator’s guidance on record-keeping, and to improve the fitness of their data for future liability management or de-risking exercises.

Most contracted out schemes are busy at some stage of a GMP reconciliation; either planning what to do or already much of the way through it. Whatever the stage your scheme has got to, here is a step by step guide to the actions to take before 5 April 2016…
